Posted - 29 January 2011 : 18:54:43 i have recieved an bankruptcy petition from sheffield city council for £3345.
i have been to the coucnil and explained i am a lone parent on low income and that the period they have filed for i was of work and did make claim for ctb. but the officer said nothing was on system and that i have to pay the full amount no arrangment is going to be expected. i am going to lose my house my job and everything . i suffer from ibd and my doc has sent a letter into the coucnil explaining that due to my health stress and anything that leads to me going ill my brain does not retain information , i have been through hell and back , first a 6yr court case to get the house after been vandaled and then i had to repair it. i then had to remorgatde as legai aid was very high , now the morgade is 45000 it does not hold much equity about 1000. i have begged them to reconsider an arrangemnet and that i cant affird to lose my house , i have been disowned by family due to the break of my marriage, my mother died last april crashing my whole world . i have till 15th feb to pay bit i have no money to offer of that sort . plse advise . |

Posted - 29 January 2011 : 23:22:41 Hi SamiK
Take a pause and slow down.
their are set procedures in place and motions which you can appeal or contest the process.
as housing says speak to one of the experts, they will be able to help you understand the whole process.
that should help relax you, then once they have the whole facts they may be able to offer suggestions.

Posted - 29 January 2011 : 21:38:21 Hi
I assume that you have had a staturory demand from what you describe.
You need to seek advice and fast as it is linked to a tight timeline of only a short period to respond (18 days)
I suggest that you contact the CAB on Monday and get an appointment next week. Explain what has happened and I am sure they will assist.
You can also get excellent advice from the experts on the BR Forum - see left nhand side of page
Do act fast, BUT at the moment try not to stress - there are ways to deal...
Good luck and DO NOT delay
