Hi Roslyn

did you both have to declare BR ?

are you both on the electrol roll and registered at the address?

I previously always stated that all debts could be included in BR however i have since had it pointed out to me that council tax, that the local council could still chase you but most council have acted as grown ups and let it be incldued in BR.

If you have both declared BR then speak to your OR

if you are both on electrol roll and only you have declared BR alas the debt would be classed as jointly and severly which means if you do not pay the whole amount transfers to the other person.

if this is the case make an appointment with local council in the morning, they are normally prepared to agree a payment plan.

Richard
