Posted - 21 February 2011 : 09:28:55 Good Morning,
I wonder if you could help, I have been looking for how to apply for a Certificate Of Discharge (not easy at all, I think I know who to send the form to but difficult to find out how much to pay, and who to make payable to etc...) and have noticed some advice that says once the discharge has gone through, my IPO cannot be changed even if a change in income occurs. Of course the cost of living has inflated over the last few years etc. so my real end-of-day income has not changed but is it true that once the bankruptcy has been discharged, the IPO cannot be changed and runs at the same level for the three years? As I am coming to the end of my IPO, does it stop automatically or do I have to make any application for this.
Many thanks in advance for your help,
Hamish |

Posted - 21 February 2011 : 11:10:01 Following my email this morning, I have received a reply (surprisingly quickly...) giving me the email address for the bankruptcy court.
I have forwarded my request to the relevant department for my Certificate Of Discharge.
Many thanks for your replies :)
I await my letter from Moon Beever in due course stating the impending end of my IVA, good to know they pro-actively inform me of this |

Posted - 21 February 2011 : 10:26:31 Hi Hamish and welcome to the forum.
If you need a certificate of discharge you will need to apply to the court where you were made BR. They will be able to confirm the cost (which used to be £60), and the information that you need to provide.
If your circumstances have changed then your IPO can be varied. I had a pay cut and my payments were reduced. You need to contact either Moon Beever or the OR and they will send you a new I & E form.

Posted - 21 February 2011 : 10:20:03 I would also like to mention that the whole process of going through bankruptcy is so massively complicated, I find it disturbing.
I've really struggled over the past few years with it, and cannot believe that it can be so hard, in places, to obtain information I need. The example is that I now need my Certificate of Discharge for something, and trying to find out how to go about this is SO bloody difficult. I understand from one or two websites that it will cost £60. Fair do's. Ironic, but hey, that's life. Different places tell me to apply for it at the court where my bankruptcy was filed, but the form from the court has a London address for a property on The Strand. No mention of payment.
Sometimes, I really feel like giving up on the whole bloody thing. |
