i have been working for a company and only getting 2-3 days per week from christmas which is not enough to suport me and my family . i have been bankrupt from august 2010 and i would like to know will my administrator let me work for myself without registering for vat etc to try and earn a living ?
can anyone advise please .

Posted - 27 February 2011 : 11:32:28 I have been self employed since my bankruptcy. The OR based my income on my projected earnings but asked me to produce my accounts as normal in case they wanted to reassess my SOAs.I had to register with HMRC for national insurance as self employed ..I think you have 3 months to do this...and pay a basic contribution quarterly . |

I know you can register as self employed for tax purposes without being VAT registered as my OH has done this.
