Posted - 10 March 2011 : 17:06:03 Alot is really done on trust with the implicit threat of what will happen if you dont tell them, of course im sure they do a few random checks on people to keep the masses honest :-) |

Posted - 10 March 2011 : 15:31:55 Thank you for your speedy reply!
So I shouldn't necessarily expect them to ask - for the whole remaining period of the IPA?? Should I not expect them to request some sort of summary at some stage?? I am aware that I should contact them when/if there are changes to my income or expenditure and I shall do that.
Is this the norm for completing a period of bankruptcy? It just seems a bit of an anticlimax really - not that I'm complaining of course!
Thanks for your help

Posted - 10 March 2011 : 15:21:53 Having an IPA is the one exception to the above, they will not necessarily send you new forms, but you have a duty to inform them about any changes to your income and expenditure throughout the IPA |

Posted - 10 March 2011 : 15:15:43 Hi - this thread struck a chord with me - I hope you don't mind me jumping in??
I should be automatically discharged from my bankruptcy next week - it cannot come soon enough!! I have an IPA in place and I am self employed. To date I have not received a request from the OR regarding an update on my income and expenditure which I had expected - or is that not the case?
After discharge will Moonbeever or the OR still have the right to see my books? I have cooperated all the way through this process and have nothing to hide but I do look forward to the time when I can resume running my affairs without the thought that I might have to justify my actions at some point in the future.
Really I would like to hear from someone about how discharge and the ongoing monitoring through the period of the IPA happens - if that makes sense??
Many thanks

Posted - 07 March 2011 : 17:53:59 Being discharged does not relieve you of responsibility to co-operate with the OR, That continues forever. It only means that you dont have to declare anything new after discharge, you still have to help the OR complete their reasonable enquiries for events that happened during the bankruptcy |

Posted - 07 March 2011 : 16:13:58 I am in much the same situation...I think you might be liable for tax payment whilst you were BR up to April of that year. They (Moonbeaver) would not know how much to collect untill they could see your accounts. |

It's a bit late for MB to be asking for that if you're a discharged bankrupt. An IPA can only be entered into whilst you're an undischarged bankrupt.
Big Al Insolvency examiner with the Insolvency service from April 2008 - July 2010.
If you need help completing SOA's(statement of affairs) or PIQ's(preliminary information questionnaire) if you've been declared bankrupt, or anything else and you're within 30 miles or so of Warrington, then please contact me via my contact details in the expert page for futher details"

Posted - 03 March 2011 : 20:52:01 Once you have been discharged you cannot get an IPA. I would give MB a call and explain what has happened and I'm sure you won't have a problem.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.
Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 - it's over at last! |
