My husband being made bankrupt in two weeks, will he have to tell OR he has cashplus card (not much on it) will they freeze it?

Hi Pattie - just thought I would share my experience. I have a cash card and had about £20 on it too. Just before I went bankrupt (Sept 2010) I withdrew the money at a cash point and did not list the card as it had no funds and owed no debt. It was just a dormant facility'. When I had my telephone interview with the OR office I told them that I had it and was told that was fine, I could keep it for future use. So I popped some money back on it and have used, it as you say, for those situations where it is handy. The OR in my case was only interested in debt and any assets I had, such as savings and cash in accounts, valuable items (I should be so lucky) and so on. They do have to leave you with a reasonable amount to live on from any money you have and any income you get (such as salary, benefits, pension etc) and £20 is not really going to be of much interest to them. As a point in note - if the OR office did 'include' your cash Plus card in bankruptcy admin (such as contacting the organisation) it is highly unlikely that they - Cash Plus - would take action to close your card as it has no credit facility. Also - Cash Plus is easily applied for by bankrupts - so worst case scenario (which simply would not happen) you simply apply for another one. As an additional note that may help - I applied for a Barclays Debit/Cash account 2 weeks after being declared bankrupt and they gave me one no problems. They are a REALLY good bank. I have a cash card, debit card, can pay SO and Direct Debits, can transfer money and shop as usual, and if I go into my local branch - they are super friendly. I guess I just must never ask them to lend me money! It just does not have a cheque book or any credit facility. And I am unemployed - so they certainly were not influenced by a big fat salary! I use my cash plus card - as back up and if I buy something off of the inetrnet. You will be fine - good luck & best wishes.

I think you will be ok with that.
It won't be on your financial record at all as it is a prepaid card.

Its a prepaid card, only has 20.00.
But handy when family would send odd money for birthdays, fathers day
they know our situation.
Is this on your financial record?
We are hoping to have early discharge as we are over 60 and do not want to do anything that could stop this.
Have only a few years left to try build our lives, we already lost our home.
