Posted - 16 March 2011 : 15:43:49 Hi all,
Im am thinking of going BR, the only bank account I have is a basic one, which my tax credits, are paid into.
Will this account still be frozen, meaning I swill have to open another basic bank account?
Kind regards Werner |

Posted - 18 March 2011 : 21:12:42 Hi werner, Abbey / Santander offered me a basic account when I was BR so you may be ok. I would contact them anonymously to ask whether you can have an account with them. If they say no, the Co-op and Barclays offer basic accounts, and I think the Post Office offer an account for benefits.
Let us know how you get on.

24 mths a go, We went pop and had abbey account at that time they not BR friendly.
santander take over may have changed things, we have just taken BR discharge notice into abbey and they are "considering" reinstating the full account.
