my wife and I are splitting up after 30 yrs. The credit card debt(£30g) is in my name only. I can't pay it. She inherited a flat from her mother. there is £50g equity. I will soon be chased into bankrupcy. Does she own half my debts and do I own half her flat?

Hi James

the easy straight forward answer is NO unless you have joint loans

however with every yes / NO there is a but, the flat will depend on your actual involvement paying of any bills etc

when you say chased into BR is that a creditor going to court soon or are they just threatening you.

Just to make certain that the BUT does not create you with further problems take some expert guidance.

Richard
