Hello, I posted in here just before my partner went BR and you were all so helpful and really put my mind at rest. I'm hoping you might be able to do it again?
Basically because my partner is self employed, he needs to keep records of I & E for the next 6 months for the OR to decide if there is money left over for an IPA for the next 3 years, which is fine, Of course we are happy to pay if we can afford to do so.
However what concerns me, is that in the Statement of affairs we included all household outgoings (about £1500), and then what I pay (literally my entire wages, about £1200), and what he pays (£300 if he has it, otherwise we eat less, turn off the heating etc.
What concerns me, is that they would continue to look at it this way, and so if he were to make £500 or more in a month, they would think that whatever he earns minus £300 is what he has free to pay an IPA, without considering that he's not yet even in a position to pay half.
I really don't know what to do about it, but hope that they take this into account so that only anything over £750 which would be half the household expenses is viewed as expendable income. Does anyone have any experience of this? While I undestand that if he has money left over of course he should pay, it feels like I would be the one to suffer for the next 3 years by having to continue to put every penny of my wages into the house and still not be able to buy family birthday presents, but myself new clothes (I literally live off friends hand me downs and have done for years), finally fix my car and get it back on the road etc.
If anyone has dealt with similar and could offer some advice i would really appreciate it as I'm just starting to feel a bit downhearted that we'll never be comfortable. |

Posted - 21 March 2011 : 21:15:23 they would expect him to make a reasonable contribution to the bills at all times so if he earns more they will let him pay more to the bills, they wont expect you to keep paying alot more than him |
