Hi,

Couple of quick questions - Just on with filling in my BR statement of affairs now.

1) I have been withdrawing cash from my account over the last few days - about £1000, which will pay the £625 fee, and leave me some money for food and groceries over the next few weeks. Will the OR expect to take that from me (the remaining £375) as I will be listing it on my cash in hand section.

2) In assets - Do I list basics such as curtains, TV, sofa, table etc? Or would that be for things like (for example) crystal chandeliers????

Thanks in advance

The OR wont mind as long as the amount is not more than your normal monthly income

No problem,
The money we took out was the money we had left in from our wages which would pay the rest of our usual living costs, ie,to pay monthly bills, buy food etc. Basically it was what was stated on our I&E form. I think it was a couple of hundred but my mind is a bit fuddled . We just didn't want to run the risk of the account being frozen & then having no money to live on that month. As it happens the OR didn't freeze the account as it was a co-op cashminder and they are aware of people having these accounts to use throughout their BR.

Hope that helps a little.

ps. forgot to say that the OR didn't mention the amount (or lack of it!!)left in the account.

Glafy,

Can i just ask a really personal question - How much did you take out and what did the OR say about it? Im worried about getting heavily quizzed!

Hi,

I have to admit that we drew every spare bit of 'money' food out of the bank account as we went BR..."just in case!!!"

You should be fine with the cash in hand as the OR understands that you need to eat.

Don't list any basic household items as these are exempt in BR.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 - it's over at last!
