I left uni before i graduated, the university is now demanding tuition fees which the student loans company did not pay - (as i repeated two years).I also owe money to the student loans company who are claiming to have (*accidently*) overpaid me more than £3000 whilst i was at university during my second year. This overpayment has been handed over to a private debt collectors company. I also have to pay money to Natwest bank which lent me a student overdraft of £1000, this too has also been handed over to a private company. Now i have left uni as i could not afford the tuition fees due to not passing the modules. I dont know what to do as i am unemployed and cannot possibly pay off this debt, i feel going bankrupt is my only option? I live with my Father and do not own any assets, property etc. What are the possible options for me?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately, as far as the student loans are concerned, you cannot put these into bankruptcy. However, you should not have to start paying these off until your income rises above a certain level and I would have thought that this would encompass any overpayment.

Is the overdraft your only other debt? If so you may well have to come to an arrangement with the bank to pay off so much a month.

Hopefully one of the experts can come on and advise further.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.
