The OR is not working for the creditors, they are working for the court

Offered £6k and repayment £100.00 over 5 years to kep my caravan home but they turned me down.
OR said they would pay reasonable costs to get back this will be around 1K at cost for a friend to bring it back. So I lose my home and as y say creditors will get very little.
I realise the OR is working for the creditors but I shall on top of the whole mess be on the street, seems no duty of care for me as the bankrupt..
This is the worst experience of my life should have struggled with the debts..it was easy for the experts giving me advice to go bankrupt

Hi,
if the OR as trustee is claiming the caravan as an asset, then it's up to them to instruct their agents to do whatever they need to realise it as an asset, by the time agents fees, repatriation costs etc are taken off they won't realise very much for it. Just tell the OR it's up to them to recover it.

As RHB says, they cant make you bring it back, they cant charge you for it either, I would just give them the keys and tell them to sort it

Who has not replied to emails?

If it is the OR, then there is a complaints mechanism - although softly softly first - a polite and reasonable approach first and see what happens

Good luck, Richard

can get no decisions other than the ultimatum over the telephone regarding the delivery of the caravan to their agents. Have no replies to over 6 emails .
What is the usual period to decide on say whether i can keep my car

If you don't have the money to get it back then you don't have the money & tbh it is no longer your problem.

Hi Peter.ly

I think that you should make an appointment with your examiner to discuss the situation. It does sound as if things are spiralling out of control quite rapidly.

I cannot believe that you are being charged to bring the caravan home and, presumably, it is worth £7k in situ in the Algarve.

All the best

The OR admin contact told me they might have considered it my ome IF I had been in it for a longer period. I had let my house for 12 months but the tenant came out owing money after 6 months so I had to return and put the house up for sale..we are losing that as well. and they still cannot.

agree if I will keep my car , its all making me ill

will be out on the street with nothing and no money its worse that owing all the money. My separated wife also went bankrupt. I am left with a small pension of £700 per month. having just survived a month living on £150 I now have to find £1,000 to bring my caravan back to the OR.

value around £7000.00 i was living in it from august last year to March when i returned to sort out the bankruptcy late April
debtinfo Posted - 22 May 2011 : 21:20:09
how much is the caravan worth now, Is anyone living in it now. were you iving in it on the date of your bankruptcy
Peter Posted - 22 May 2011 : 20:16:30
Complicated but caravan was paid for by me last year so considered my asset.
real question is about repatriation costs. I have offered pay market value over 5 years but the civil servant dealing with it thought it unlikely

Hi Peter.ly

Let's rewind. There is no way that the OR can demand that you return an asset that belongs to your daughter. Please delve more deeply as I suggest that the person who told you was a junior member of the OR's staff trying to earn brownie points. There are a lot of knowledgeable experts on this forum who will be able to help you.

Kind regards

If it is in your daughters name then how come it is down as an asset for you?

If you are bankrupt then you need to speak to OR about this and tell them the circumstances.

The world is broken, halos fail to glisten
We try to make a difference but no one wants to listen
Hail the preachers, fake and proud
Their doctrines will be cloud
Then they'll dissipate like snowflakes in an ocean
