Sadly due to redundancy and then illness my IVA is now with the failure department (Grant Thornton). Please could you advise on how much it will cost to go bankrupted (I understand the cost is going up 1st June this year). I am on income support.

Thanks

Hiya Jeanette.5

Kallis is correct in that the bankruptcy fee are to increase from 1st June to £700 for the full fee. However you should be able to complete form EX160 before your court appointment and take proof of your IS along to the court and only pay £525. You will get the £175 court fee wiaved. However speak with your Supervisor at Grant Thornton as it may be that funds have been put aside for your bankruptcy should the IVA fail.

All the best

Hi Jeanette,

Sorry to hear about your illness and redundancy, hope things improve.

BR is going to cost £700 as from next week but you may be able to get some of that reduced. One of the experts will be able to advise further.

The world is broken, halos fail to glisten
We try to make a difference but no one wants to listen
Hail the preachers, fake and proud
Their doctrines will be cloud
Then they'll dissipate like snowflakes in an ocean
