I want to declare myself bankrupt as i have a debt over 20,000pds. I am renting am work within the financial industry.
I have two kids, one with a disability and both in school. Pay for childcare.

After am declared bankrupt- i assumed i would be debt free but from what have read i still have to make a montly contribution to the court- please can you explain that

Hi and welcome to the forum.

If you work in the financial industry then you need to make sure that going bankrupt will not affect your job.

Your debts will be written off but if you have disposable income of over £20 a month once your priority bills have been paid then this will have to be paid across for three years.

Do you have any assets that could be at risk such as a house or car worth more than about £2k?
