Posted - 27 June 2011 : 18:07:44 Hi Everyone, Long time since I have felt the need to come on, but here we are again. Well we went BR in Sept 2009 MBNA was included but seemed to have a problem with updating my record so I contacted ICO who in turned contacted MBNA asking them to comply to the law, they were included in the BR and they need to clear the default from my credit file. Today I received a letter from Evershed stating on the 27th May 2011 MBNA sold and transferred my account to Max recovery I don't owe any money...what do I do now...this is so bad...surely they are breaking the law? do I ignore the letter?? it does ask me NOT to contact this office...just when you think you are completely free...MBNA again...I will tell everyone I know to avoid at all costs MBNA even if they are they cheapest... |

Posted - 28 June 2011 : 19:15:02 No, Max recovery basically buy them as a service to tidy up all the paperwork that the banks dont want to deal with any more, This is their business and what they specialise in and so are often easier to deal with than the banks themselves. They buy them very cheap in large batches and a few will get a payout from the OR. For that they take on the responsibility and handle all the comunicating with the OR etc |

Posted - 28 June 2011 : 18:52:06 Hi, So I have nothing to worry about?, I am a little concerned that it has taken MBNA 18 months and then sell a debt that is no longer o/s it was included in the BR so what they expect to gain apart from what the OR decides to give them. The ICO said MBNA had confirmed they had updated my file which i will check...so Max Recovery need to do nothing...will they try for more money...ask the OR to open our case? |

Posted - 27 June 2011 : 21:41:08 Yes, dont assume that it is all a disaster. It is not against the law, they are not asking you to repay, it is simply a paper exercise, Max recovery actually specialise in tidying up all these bankruptcy debts that hang about untill The trustee declares whether there will be a dividend or not. They are experienced in this field and if you contact them they should update the credit file no problem |

Posted - 27 June 2011 : 19:04:39 Some of my debts were passed to Max Recovery and I have to say they were the easiest of all my creditors when it came to clearing my credit file! I wrote to them and they did it straight away, so it might be worth contacting Max directly.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.
