Posted - 09 September 2011 : 18:06:17 yes but as uncaring as it may sound if you dont want to be a foster carer anymore you can just hand the children back permenantly |

Posted - 08 September 2011 : 21:15:11 That does surprise me as the money is paid to you to look after the children so I wouldn't have thought it would count toward income.

Posted - 08 September 2011 : 21:04:07 Yes, when you are a foster carer, you are considered to be self employed by the OR and by HMRC (for instance you may have to pay tax if your income is great enough) and as such are dealt with in the same way as all other self employed persons. Of course all reasonable expenditure on the children as with everything else is counted against the income |

Posted - 08 September 2011 : 18:48:17 Hi and welcome.
I'm not an expert but I wouldn't think so. This money is paid for you to look after your foster children.
