Hi all,

Just to keep you up to date with my recent IPA review request. I spoke to a really helpful person at Moonbeever, who agreed to reduce my IPA while the review is taking place. This means this month's IPA will be considerably less than my normal payment, which will help enormously with my increased rent. They did send me a letter requesting further proof of the increases in my utilities but as I informed them that these are currently estimates as I have just moved into the property and will not know exactly how much these bills will be for a few months, I could not send them any bills at present. I did explain that my estimates were in no way overestimated, so hopefully they will accept this. Even if they don't accept the other increases (in petrol, travel, etc) then I would be happy with just the rent increase being agreed to. At least that way, my current IPA payment will be reduced to an more manageable monthly amount. I must admit, that each time I have spoken to Moonbeever, they do seem really willing to help in any way they can. Obviously the end decision is not theirs to make, it is the OR or RTLU, but they do seem to have the authority to at least reduce payments while the review process is taking place, which is better than nothing. The RTLU on the other hand seem far less amicable and tend to try and get every last penny from you. Well that's my experience anyway.

Have a good weekend all.

ok pretend im your friend and you rent off me, your have an IPA of £300pm and your rent is £600pm, you have this idea which you discuss with your friend, why dont we just sign the agreement for £900pm and the friend can "treat" you to £300 of stuff like going the pub each month and bingo no more money to be paid on your IPA. This is the sort of reason the check, if it is simply just a normal rent increase then it will not be a problem but you can see why they need to check these things out

Hi,

Can I ask a stupid question - why do they have to agree a rent increase?

My landlord didn't agree the rent increase with me they just did it, so why should the rent increase have to be agreed with Moonbeever? It's not as if you have any choice or are asking to spend more on going out?!
