Posted - 26 March 2012 : 11:29:14 Me and my new husband are currently under a financial management plan but i have just found out i'm being made redundant. No way can we pay our weekly outgoings, plus the plan, plus £600 monthly to bailiffs. My husband is self employed and all our accounts are in joint names. If i remove my name from the joint accounts and only i go bancrupt (no assets and housing association home) will his bank account be affected if we stick with the financial management plan for only his debts?

If you have no assets and live in rented property bankruptcy could be a good option for you - £600 a month to bailiffs sounds very painful.

Are the joint accounts in debit at all? If they are then you may find it hard to remove your name from them.
