Posted - 03 April 2012 : 13:10:21 A good account to apply for is the Co-Op Cash Minder account - they are very good at opening basic accounts for people with debt problems, but you do not need to have debt problems to have an account, just a very good basic bank, and come highly recommended by many forum users. You can check your credit rating with Experian, Call Credit and Equifax. It will cost you £2 a time.
Unfortunately banks can decline you without a reason. I've had it happen to me before now.
