Posted - 16 April 2012 : 18:55:35 went bankrupt in december did our SOA we had £2,683 plus £146 CB AND £294 DLA care for wife our expenditure came to £2,630 plus we put the dla down as additional expenditure. the OR has just proposed an IPA of £281 for myself and £152 for my wife our IVA was only £424 and the only difference is my wife dla she has only recently recieved it. he has reduced our housekeeping to £600 and this is to include all shopping 2 kids school dinners and my work meals and special diet for my wife she is a diabetic. i had £640 without special diet this was included in dla expenditure. he also reduced travel costs to £200 to include school busfares i am putting £200 in car in petrol alone and busfares cost an additional £32 plus my wife needs to use taxis on occasion when im unavailable. utilitie came down £27 this is right no argument there. totally diregardes sky i had put £100 for this but it also included broadband and landline we have no ariel so need the basic sky. disregarded children pocket money and swimming lessons totalling £36 also discounted daughters mobile phone £40 does this IPA sound right he is also not daughter goes into higher education soon so her clothes will be for an adult and also her bus fares any advice would be welcome.

Do you have petrol receipts to prove how much petrol you are using? you could try giving these to the OR if you have them
If you dont have to agree with the IPA, you can ask the OR to proceed with a income payments order which the court can set.
£477 would be the average amount for food and toiletries for a family of 4 and sky is not usually an allowable expenditure.
Debtinfo is right in that the expenditure for both IVA and BR is assessed in similar ways

Posted - 16 April 2012 : 19:12:41 most IPA's will be set at about the same rate as IVA payments as they are worked out in a similar manner
