How do I get defaults removed from my name. I was in a bankruptcy 5 years ago from which I was discharged in April 2008. Some of my creditors are refusing to put a satisfaction date on my record which is having an adverse effect on my credit file. I have been advised that the only way to force this is by taking them to Court and would like some advice before I proceed.

Hi Payam,

You need to write to the data controller at each creditor asking them to mark it as satisfied and make sure they haven't defaulted you after your court date.

If they refuse, then you can make a complaint to the information comissioner. If you google it, it will give you details. There will be no reason for you to go to court.
