Posted - 28 April 2012 : 19:24:59 I have debts of about £20k. If I pay them each month I cant pay any of my household bills or living expences. My partner has been paying for these, but his hours have been cut and can no longer afford to pay for everything. So if I pay my share of the bills I wont have enough money to pay debtors. I've worked out I would only hve about £190 a month. Do you think bankruptcy is the best option for me? Will they take my car ? (I have recently sold my car to get enough money to pay the rent this month and have a car worth £695 just to get to work). Also what assets can they seize? Also, do I have to declare ALL of my debt, for example I have catalogues, but can afford to pay those if I didnt have the other debt. Thanks |

As Jan has said, all debts will need to be included.
If you need your car for work purposes then it will be safe.
Bankruptcy may be an option for you, but there may be others, so please speak to an expert on here or visit the CAB for some debt advice.

Yes, you do have to declare all of your debts for bankruptcy.
