Posted - 01 May 2012 : 19:46:01 Hi All, I went Bankrupt in Nov 2007 and I have been discharged now since September 2008, so I only have until Nov 2013 for it to come off of my Credit Reports. My question is - are any banks likely to let me get a mortgage after this date. Or will I have to go through an adverse mortgage lender or something? I have managed my accounts well, I have a credit card, store card and a mobile phone which i have managed well for teh past three years. Please advise. |

Posted - 14 May 2012 : 15:19:19 Hi,
I have contacted Ryan - IVA Forum and he has said that he will look into some options for me, which is great.
I am living with my boyfriend who already has a mortgage, he has £100K equity in the property - so we do not need a deposit - we will just be remortgaging - just with me on it as well.
Do you think this will make a difference as the LTV is 70%?

Posted - 01 May 2012 : 20:11:16 Possibly, it depends whether they ask if you've been bankrupt before, but it sounds like you will have a good credit rating at the time, so if you have a good deposit, then hopefully you will get a good deal.
There is an expert on iva.co.uk who deals with mortgages, maybe contact him for advice.
