Posted - 15 May 2012 : 21:02:11 i have a mortgage and car finance as well a credit card of approx £5500 outstanding. i might be losing my job. if this happens am better off declaring myself bankrupt. my wife does not work as she looks after out two kids who are 1 and 4 years old.

Bankruptcy wouldn't deal with your mortgage and car finance (if it's HP) if you want to keep the house and car.
If you do lose your job, then I suggest you speak to your mortgage company and your car finance company and see if you can take a payment break while you seek work.
Also speak to the credit card company.
I hope you don't lose your job, but if you do, good luck for the job hunt.
