My company is going in to liquidation but we have no idea what to do. How do we deal with staff redundancy and general business closure? Can we get any external help ? Do we need to do everything themselves or do we need to bring in somebody external?

Me too.
However, researching as much as you can first allows you to become au fait with some of the jargon and law.

Hopefully this will give more productive time during the 'face to face', as the OP will have become more knowledgeable.

David, let us know how you get on.

I think I'd prefer to sit down and discuss something like this face to face.

Ascend may you find no resistance
Know that you made such a difference
All you leave behind will live to the end
The cycle of suffering goes on
But memories of you stay strong
Someday I too will fly and find you again

and acas too

That's a good link from Daniel - I'd give that a go. You could nip down to your local CAB for some face to face advice.

Depending on the size of your company there are differnet rules that you should adhere to.

Theres a fair bit of information on the government website, also on acas and the CAB website.
