There is a,mortgage broker that posts on here. His name is Ryan and his, details can be found under the expert link. Give him a call for some free advice.

Ascend may you find no resistance
Know that you made such a difference
All you leave behind will live to the end
The cycle of suffering goes on
But memories of you stay strong
Someday I too will fly and find you again

Hi there John.81

Viki is absolutely right about getting a copy of your credit file. It is important to check that the date any defaults from any of your creditors is no later than the date of your bankruptcy. If any are then they will remain on your credit file for 6 years from that date. The only way to change this is to speak to the actual creditor themselves and make sure that they change the date of the default with the credit reference agencies.

Other than that, I think your best bet is to speak to a mortgage broker who is used to dealing with sub prime cases. They will be best placed to advice you about your mortgage options.

Hi John,

You will need to check experian, equifax and callcredit, either online or ask them to send you your credit report.

If there are any defaults still showing then you will need to write to the data controller for each creditor asking them to mark the debt as satisfied and make sure the date of the last default is not after the date of your bankruptcy.

Then all the debts and your bankruptcy will drop off in August.

You could then perhaps get a mobile phone contract, small overdraft, even a Vanquis credit card if you pay the balance off each month, that will all help to rebuild your credit.

There is a mortgage expert on here listed in the experts section called Ryan, maybe give him a call and see what advice he can give, but with the deposit that you have, I think you may have a good chance.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.
