Posted - 04 September 2012 : 14:05:09 Hi there,
While I can also recommend the co-op bank, particularly for bankrupts, I should point out that it is very difficult to keep an eye on the status of your account, particularly if you have direct debits set up on it. I have carried out a few online transactions when there hasn't been sufficient money in my account and rather than the bank declining it, they have authorised the payment only for me to then go overdrawn. As I have no overdraft facility, they then charge me £15 each time I go overdrawn (per transaction). I think this is a bit crafty of them and they do keep warning me that continuation of going overdrawn will result in them withdrawing my account, although this has not happened as yet and I have been overdrawn a number of times already.
Just be careful.

Posted - 31 August 2012 : 14:51:02 The Co op Cashminder is a good account. The only thing I would say is keep an eye on your balance as the online banking isn't 'real time'. I never found it a problem as I keep a spreadsheet as well.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side. |

Posted - 31 August 2012 : 13:05:35 Hi l
coop offer on line banking i have operated my account for teh past 4 years without a problem
when you initailly open an account do not go for the easy online open a new application as they will default "no" because of the BR. speak to a person and say you have gone BR or planning to go and they will approve the account
Richard
Good Luck Richard,
