this is pcoventry - Just wanted to ask.

One of my creditors appears to have sold on a debt I listed in my BR and a debt collection agency has used a credit file search to get my new address and write to me - is this wrong?

I have locked the pete.85 member details.

We don't delete user names, just lock them.

Thanks I see the new topic but now. And I had to put in my e-mail address in order to start a new topic ( at the time)

As a forum user since they started I am not stupid enough to subscribe to a thread I started. It's because there is another account with my e-mail address on so I am getting replies for people replying (as I will get one now)

but it's okay ill log in to the other account and change the e-mail address to a throw away hotmail to stop it.

Thanks for the advice anyway

If you are getting notifications that you are replying to yourself then it sounds as though you have subscribed to the topic - just check at the top of the thread and click unsubscribe if you are.

As regards a new topic, there is a link called 'New Topic'.

Just go into an existing topic, click on that link and it will open up a new page for you to start a brand new topic.

Ah! thanks Viki!

I have written them a strong e-mail threatening to inform the OR aswell as report three as well. Because the letter states three sold the debt on to them recently

Hi pcoventry,

I advise you write to them to tell them to stop calling you and state that if they carry on chasing you, you will make a complaint to the OFT.

Don't click "ask a question", that's really for someone posting for the first time. Instead, go to the main forum page and click on the pink folder on the right of "forum questions". This starts a new topic.

Luckily i don't ask alot of questions.

It should not make a new account at all.

As regards your question, there is nothing to stop them from searching your credit file but just tell them you are bankrupt and they should not contact you again.

That's what I did and it does! Admin has to remove pete.85 before because it made a new account as has again.

Anyway I did tell them I was bankrupt after I was made so. And 2 of the debts they were chasing me for are included in the BR. SO can someone tell me what I should, if anything, do next please?

Just to add that you will need to go into a thread to find that link at the top of the page.

Sorry had to put it was me because as you can see it makes a new account every time.

Is there a way to create a new thread when logged in?
