My husband has debt over 50.000 we have been in a DBT for 3 years now. Should he go banktrupt or an IVA. we have two mortgages one is a buy to let the other is our residence, the buy to let income is used to support our living costs etc. My advisor with the dMP has suggested my husband go in to a IVA and also suggests that we would not have to sell our buy to let as that supports our cost of living and maintains our mortgage, I really sont know which way to turn. The mortgages are in joint names.

Hi Marie,

How much can you afford to pay each month?

An IVA may work but you really need to speak to an expert to chat everything through as your buy to let may be at risk whatever solution you choose.
