Posted - 19 September 2013 : 22:10:32 I have just been told today that my full and final offer in my iva has been rejected. We had said we were going bancrupt if this happened as I lost my job as a teacher in may this year. I was the main wage earner. We are currently living off benefits and my hubby's wage. The iva company have told me that we will get a certificate of failure in about 6 months time. I am confused as to why this is so after we have already arrears of payments of 3 months. They told us to stop payment! We just want to go bancrupt and start fresh and want to do it as quick as poss as my mother in law has only been given 12 months to live due to terminal cancer, she wants to see us sorted before she goes. I wondered if the iva company are going to hold out as they are trying to get as much PPI reclaim back. Any advise on what we need to do and the steps to take would be helpful. We are completely lost. We are in negative equity by about 15000 as well , what would this mean for our house. We have 2 young boys Help help

Posted - 20 September 2013 : 08:50:38 Hi and welcome from me as well.
I am also sorry to hear of your IVA failing, please get in touch with your IVA company and ask for the failure certificate asap.
I echo what Viki has said about chatting to an expert. The advice is free.
The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity. – Ulysses S. Grant

Sorry about your IVA. I'm surprised your IP isn't advising you on bankruptcy, they are there to help.
You can offer to buy back the beneficial interest in your home. I really think you should either chat to an expert on here or speak to your IP.
