Posted - 07 January 2014 : 15:41:11 Hi to all! I am an old member re-registered. I went bankrupt in 2008 I was discharged 1 yr later and opened a Nat West "Step Account" (basic). I also. I have kept the account in perfect order for 5 years and around £100.000 has gone through the account in that time. Nat West refuse to upgrade my account to a normal one blaming my Bankruptcy. (pretty rich considering the Taxpayer bailed out them because of their incompetence!). I also discovered that they place restrictions on how you can use your Debit Card, Ie: Your own money only letting you use Tesco and Nat West ATM's and no pay at pump! To make matters worse they are the only bank that will not let you pay cheques into the Post Office so people Beware!! I asked then if I won the Lottery would they then give me a normal account Answer: No!
My question is... In March my BR falls off my credit file. Does this mean an immediate improvement in my credit rating / score? If so I will be telling NW to Foxtrot Oscar! Can anyone recommend a decent bank cause they all seem to be con artists?

Have you checked that your creditors have not defaulted you at all during that time?
You can always try another bank such as Barclays or Nationwide.
The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity. – Ulysses S. Grant
