I went bankrupt in 1999. When I reached 55 the official receiver is trying to take my pension with Prudential as a lump sum, I was never offered the chance to buy back my pension in 1999 I didn't know anything about the scheme. When I asked if I could buy it back now they refused , when I complained they told me that they are not obliged to offer me the chance to buy it back. Seems really unfair other people were given the opportunity so why was I discriminated against - can you advise please

Hi and welcome,

Sorry to hear of your problems - hope the insolvency site can help you out.

The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity. – Ulysses S. Grant
