Hi, I was declared Bankrupt in Oct /2007 after many financial problems. My longterm girlfriend and I would like to get married in December this year, we currently do not co-habit. Will this affect her income and assets, if we marry?

Hi Skippy,

Start with a cold beer and a curry and you'll be fine :)

Thanks for the info Julian. Now to convince Dave - we've been together 11 years this year, so I'm not optimistic!

Hi Skippy,

Even if you're married, the credit reference agencies automatically disassociate people at the same address. You should be fine, and the worst case scenario is completing a Notice of Disassociation with the credit reference agencies.

Sorry to jump in on this, but this is something that interests me.

I'm now discharged, and I was wondering what would happen if my OH and I get married - would it effect his credit rating? We've been living together a couple of years and I was the only one who was BR, and we never had any joint finances.

Hi Andypg,

This should have no effect. If you are not already discharged, you should be shortly. Did you get an IPA/IPO?
