But on the forms t says have u been gambling in the last 2 years and last year i did a bit i was using money i could of paid to creditors but i used it to gamble in stead will i still be allowed to declare bankrupt or will they say no any help would be good thanks you

It very much depends on how much you lost when gambling. A few quid on the lottery won't count, but a few thousand is likely to end up with a BRU/BRO as well as mandatory attendance at gamblers anonymous.

Posted - 01 September 2008 : 21:45:11 Hi Dooloo and welcome, You should still be able to declare BR the only thing that you may get is a BRU a bankruptcy restriction undertaking or even the BRO with is the same but it becomes an order done through the court. There are some others on here that have gambled and gone BR so like i have said it may mean further investiagation and maybe a face to face interview, but you will be able to obviously thats if you are insolvent as in you dont have enough money left per month after paying your essential living costs to then pay your creditors. I may be wrong if i am someone will clarify it for you, but from what i understand you should be ok. :)
