Posted - 02 September 2008 : 15:32:07 Hi Lil,
Regarding your emigration, you'll need to check with the relevant embassy to see if BR will effect your application.
To get started, just download the documents from the Insolvency Service website. Once completed, book a date at your local county court!

Posted - 02 September 2008 : 15:27:34 Hi Guys, thanks for the welcome and quick responses. Jo, I have read a little of your blog and thanks it is very helpful I will study some later. Julian, I will only receive a basic state pension on retirement so I don't think there are any worries there, neither do I own any property. In fact I heve little in the way of possessions at all . My car is worth about £200. ??? what I need to know at this point is who do I approach to get started. and perhaps more importantly I want to emigrate within 6 months. will BR affect me in any way regards Lil |

Posted - 02 September 2008 : 11:56:14 Hi Layby Lil,
BR is certainly an option. However, you need to be mindful that if you are within 3 years of retirement when you go BR and your pension pays out a lump sum, the OR could take it to pass to your creditors.

Posted - 02 September 2008 : 10:53:00 Hi laybylil and a very warm welcome to you.
From what you have posted it sure sounds like BR could be an option but dont quote me on that. One of the other experts will be along shortly and give you some more advice, but your not alone and hang on in there.
Keep Smiling Jo :)
