Posted - 03 September 2008 : 11:32:11 Hi all,
Another question from me, I'm afraid. I'm sure I read somewhere about the OR (or someone!) having to inform the Local Authority when someone goes BR. Can anyone confirm if this is the case and if so, who exactly do they inform at the Local Authority and how widespread will the information be there?
Thanks,

Posted - 04 September 2008 : 08:06:34 If you have left the property and it is vacant you can at least get a 6 month exemption. Will the property be repossessed? if so the responsisbility will pass to them. When will you leave your house??? |

Posted - 03 September 2008 : 12:47:40 Hi CG,
There are no current plans for PMs, but that's not to say it's something we won't look at in the future.

Posted - 03 September 2008 : 12:46:26 Yeah, I know, but admin are busy people and from experience it can take a few days to set up. Just from being on other (non BR related!) forums, PMs are really helpful. As I said, though, just a suggestion. You guys do a fab job!

Posted - 03 September 2008 : 12:37:34 Not at all! :-) If you knew what it was, you'd know why I don't want to say.
Is there any way we could have a PM facility on here Julian? There are often times people would be able to get better info and advise if they could give much more detail and I for one, don't always want to post it on the forum. In this case, I think Zoe could help me more if she knew more about the situation.
Just a suggestion! :-)

Posted - 03 September 2008 : 12:29:33 Thanks Zoe, that helps. No, we don't rent from the council.
Yeah, without going into detail, there is a Dept i the local council who we would much rather weren't informed about our BR. (It's times like this that I wish this site had a Private Messge facility, so I could explain without making too many details public!)
Thanks again,

Posted - 03 September 2008 : 12:25:50 That would more than likely mean that the Council are not a creditor. And you do not rent from the Council? If not i cannot see why the OR would need to contact them. |

Posted - 03 September 2008 : 12:14:55 No, no Final Notice or Summons. We just rearranged which months we paid, then had to make up for it now we've moved.
Does that make sense?

Posted - 03 September 2008 : 12:10:52 Have you had a Final Notice or a Summons? The other point is all Councils have their post opened securely and together for all departments. If the LA are written to in my experience they do not mark for a specific department and the post tends to "go round the houses" until the correct department is found. Is there someone that works at the Council you do not want to be aware?? |

Posted - 03 September 2008 : 12:10:14 Thanks Julian,
What happened was we arranged to pay over 10 months as usual, but from July-April instead of from March-December, which our LA seem to let you do no problem. When we moved into rented though, we then had to make up the rest of the money from the old house, so now they've just added a bit to each monthly payment.
