hi,

my 20yo daughter recently moved into her own flat and shares with friends. she is at university and has a part time job paying £400 a month. to help her get on her feet (and make sure she has something to eat!) i pay £100 of her rent each month. can i include this on my soe as a reasonable expense?

also, my other (18yo) daughter is still at home but soon starting university. she doesn't have a job so i give her £100 a month allowance for stuff like toiletries, travel, mobile etc. can i include this on my soe as a reasonable expense?

i think it is reasonable but will the or?

thanks

slaant

Hi Slaant and welcome to the forum.

The SOA does make allowances for dependants not living with you, so you should be able to cover this expenditure ok.
