Hi all,

Well we're well into the countdown for us now (going BR on Wed!!) and so will have lots of questions for you lovely people!

Here's my first:

On our SoA, do we put each other's FULL income, as we're both going BR or do we just have to put a contribution? If it's just a contribution, how do we know how much to put?

Hubby's income is £2202
Mine's £950

Any ideas how we do this as I just can't get my head around it!

Thanks,

CG. x

Hi CG
Yes but no actual figures if that makes sense. She told us we dont have an IPA and that we have £2122 income but she has not given us a complete rundown of the I&E but wee were allowed 150 gas and el, 175 for clothes for 5 of us. Nothing mentioned about xmas or other gifts, we also found out that she did not take into the figures CB or DLA.

Not at all Jo. You didn't confuse me. It's good to get it first hand from someone who's just done it!

As I said before I'm sure I'll be back with many more questions before we go to court on Weds!

Hi CG

Sorry i did not want to confuse you, i found it easier putting it exactly the same as we are a couple and that is how we pay the bills etc.

You do what you think is right but make sure you get the figures right when it adds up.

Good luck mate.

Thanks again Jo.

We're just confused now cos when we phoned the OR's office, they told us to put all household expenditure on each, then our own expenditure on our own and not on the other.

I guess it's just yet another example of inconsistency!!

I don't suppose it'll matter either way really, cos they'll be able to work it out.

I'll put the whole income in like you said.

Thanks again!

Hi CG

No we put everything on each of the forms so it mirrored each others. And yes about the money you put your income and OH's complete on yours and vice versa. Our OR said that was fine as we went BR at the same time and they knew as we are married if that makes sense.

The only IPA we have is the NT coding one, they did not count DLA which i get for my eldest or the CB. So that was good and took us below so no IPA other than about 6 months of £285 till the end of March, then thats its.

I dont think you have done it wrong, this is how i did mine and the OR like i said was happy with that. You need to get the figures the same and that should be ok.
I hope that your still chilling out, it will soon be over and you will feel FREE again.

Thanks Jo, that does help. I forgot you had both gone BR and was thinking it was just you, so that's good(you may be able to answer more of my questions over the next few days! :-)). Have neither of you got an IPA (other than the tax one).

So just to clarify, you put your income on yours and then you put your husband's contribution as his ENTIRE net income, NOT just a contribution eg 3/4?

And you put ALL your outgoings on both forms too? I thought I was supposed to put the household ones on both (rent, council tax, utilities etc) but then extras for me on mine (eg my travel expenses) and ian's on his (eg. all car expenses as the car is his and I don't drive).

Have I done this wrong then?

Thanks again,

Hi CG

Well on my SoA as like you both hubby and myself went BR together we put exactly the same for I&E and the contributions we put my full on mine then the total what hubby earns then did the same on hubbys his full amount for his then what i earn.
We mirrored them. We do the household bills jointly so basically did them the same.
Good Luck for Wed, i hope this has helped.
