Posted - 10 September 2008 : 16:38:35 It might also be worth getting a report from Callcredit, as a lot of companies by information from them and they are VERY unreliable!
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Posted - 10 September 2008 : 14:03:23 Hi Claire- unfortunately you cannot disassociate yourself from a debt which you are liable for, ie you have signed the agreement.
Maizie- Google Experian or Equifax, write to them requesting a copy of the non bankrupt's credit report and enclose the fee. (Think it's still £2).
On receipt take a copy and put a note against any borrowings that do not apply to the non bankrupt and post it back requesting disassociation from those entries noted. You will have to give just a very short reason why for each (ie -"not my debt-partners or husband's / wife's debt").

Posted - 10 September 2008 : 13:59:01 As far as I am aware even if you disassociated from your partner you would still be liable for the debts because they are in your name. I am only doing this because my partner has nothing to do with my bankruptcy, all debts are mine and in my name but don't want to prevent him from getting credit if he wishes because I live at his address.
It is basically saying I live at the addres but he has nothing to do with my debts.

Posted - 10 September 2008 : 13:52:56 Hi Maize
What does disasscociated mean? i mean i know what it is but what is it in terms of BR? My OH is in a lot of debt and considering BR. Some of his debts are in my name so when he does do it - all of this debt will fall on me to pay as i want to avoid BR myself. Is disassociating something that could help me?
Thanks
