dazed and confused
Posted - 10 September 2008 : 14:56:28 Dear Forum
Sorry - one more question - I seem to remember reading that it is ok for a BR person to accept money from a person e.g. family if it is intended as a 'gift'?
Is this correct, and if so is this the case before BR, during BR and after BR?
Thanks!

Posted - 10 September 2008 : 15:49:17 Hi not a problem, it's cash that's a major problem or assets of high value becoming part of your estate before discharge.
Posted - 10 September 2008 : 15:19:02 Hi John and thanks again for your reply!
Sorry to complicate things (I am good at that) but what if a family member paid for something either before BR or during BR, for example a flight / holiday?
Thanks!
John
Posted - 10 September 2008 : 15:00:51 Hi before BR is not good as it becomes an asset at the time of BR and thus claimed. It would also be claimed during BR but after discharge no problem.
You may be confusing an asset with income. Before and during bankruptcy there is no difference between the two. Post discharge only income is claimed by the OR and only then if an IPA was started pre discharge.
