I am going to ask the leeds BS for details of how i go about a voluntary repossession but am unsure of how to go about it.should i just ring their customer services and come straight out with it,or do i need to be careful over timing. i want to get it under way asap and will be arranging to go to court in next couple of weeks. worried that when i ask them they will start some kind of proceedings against me and take charge of the situation?

Hi
until you are sufficiently in arrears (3 months) there is no legal path they can take although they may suggest otherwise when you call.

The best way is to firstly stop paying the mortgage, any other secured loans and all unsecured debts. Then find and move into new accommodation.
Then declare bankruptcy and post the keys back to the lender.
