If i declare myself bankcrupt do items of my property get taken i am living with my mother in a coucil property, i will my mothers address be effected? or is it just my name? i have not missed any payments on my debts but am always borrowing more money off friends family to get me and my son stuff we need! My mother has given me until the 1st April to move out, and need to get myself sorted before or we will never manage on our owns!

just thought I would add that for a while now it has not been the policy of the credit reference agencies to tarnish your Mum's address after you have declared bankruptcy from that same address.

If she did have a problem after in getting credit it is a simple and cheap process to sort that out.

Hi Lizzie , I am far from an expert , but from what i have gleaned from this site & other sources unless you have an expensive item ( not including everyday household items ) you would be ok .
