Posted - 14 September 2008 : 01:26:11 I was originally told (on the phone) that I'd be able to stay with NatWest after BR, as long as I downgrade to a Step Account. However, one month on, and still no frozen account or reply from my letters, I decided to pop into my local branch. I was told in no un-certain terms that NatWest will not allow me a bank account of any sorts. |

Regrettably the decision on whether to allow you to maintain the account (even if the OR has declared they have no interest in it) is entirely at the bank's discretion.

Posted - 14 September 2008 : 11:53:57 Hi all, HBOS and RBS were not creditors. I used to have a RBS credit card, but paid that off/shut it years ago.
The OR sent NatWest a letter (as the Current Account was listed on the SoA), but as I heard so many conflicting stories about their policy, I opened a Cashminder (for my wages) on the day of BR. |

Posted - 14 September 2008 : 11:35:14 Hi zamfir did you write off any debts to Halifax or RBoS when BR? This could be the reason as I believe they are all part of the same group.

Posted - 14 September 2008 : 09:21:29 Hi Zamfir
I was told that by my local branch but i still managed to open a first reserve savings account. The manager said to me not to send them a copy of my BR then the account should be fine. He also said to wait and see. The account is still open at present but i dont know how long for. Good luck with it all.
