Posted - 18 September 2008 : 14:32:40 Hello,
I went Bankrupt in Nov 07 and wanted to join the police, I phoned up the MET recruitment team and they said I would not be able to apply until 3 years after discharge, even if i did not want to be a police officer and just work in recruitment etc.
i asked him if you were in the police and went bankrupt if you were ok, he said yes, which doesnt seem to make sense to me - but that's what he said.
i would ask your HR office as they should know...

Posted - 18 September 2008 : 13:58:11 Hi
I have noticed that the Police Force do not dismiss on a simple bankruptcy now but only if there if a BRO/BRU given. As John said check your contract and give HR a call.
Posted - 18 September 2008 : 13:35:26 Hi you must refer to your contract of employment. It may well be the case as it is with police officer's themselves.
