Dear Forum

Has anyone on here gone to Bury County Court (Greater Manchester) to declare themselves BR?

If so, in which local paper does the BR get displayed?

Who or where is the Official Receiver who delas with the case based? Manchester?

Thank you in advance!

Hehe no worries. You're getting confused like me! (teehee!) I told you this in your other thread about the OR interview, but as it's you I'll tell you again ;-) :-)

It'll be 3 weeks tomorrow since we went BR and our interviews are on Thurs. Quite a while really! When I rang to reschedule they did let me but said they were busy.

Hope they're quicker with you! Ask when you speak to them at court, explaining the situation.

All the best hon!

Hi BankruptC

Thanks again for your reply!

Sorry - one more question re. the OR in Manc. - how long did you have to wait for your interview after BR?

Cheers!

I'm not sure about that either Dazed. I didn't look for ours. That's where I'd expect it to be though. Maybe they put the business and personal BR's in on different days?? Just a thought, but considering the amount of time it took them to arrange our interviews, and the size of the area they cover, I'd guess there'll be lots of us!

Hi!

Sorry - one more to add to this regarding BR in M.E.N. - is it advertised in the 'Legal Notices' section of the paper?

I had a look today but it only seems to be businesses...

Hi again Dazed,

You're welcome! Glad I could be the bearer of good news! I asked several people at the OR's office and they all said M.E.N. only. We had a serious reason for not wanting it to appear in our local paper so we were so chuffed to hear it wouldn't!

Our interviews are on Thurs (aaargh!), but I have spoken briefly to our examiner, who wasn't over-friendly (not that I expected him to be!), but he was polite, helpful and accommodating when I asked to change BOTH our appointments!

I have to say there was someone who had an unpleasant experience with one of Manchester's examiners, but luckily it's not the same one we're dealing with, and fingers crossed it won't be yours either! I'm sure you'll be lucky and get a nice one-there must be a difficult one in most offices, not just ours, and I really haven't read of many bad experiences! :-)

Hope you're having a good weekend too. We're just gathering our statements etc together for the OR, so not the best way to spend a sunny saturday morning, but we'll get out with the little one later! :-)

Enjoy your weekend too hon.

Hi BankruptC!

Hope you are well!

Thanks for your reply! Yes, this is the news I wanted to hear - thank you very much!

It would not look good for me to be on the front page of local paper doing work with the community and on the back page going BR!!!

What was your OR in Manc. like - were they ok?

Hope you have a good weekend!!!

Hi and thanks for your reply!

So if the OR is based in Manchester who deal with BR cases in Bury, would the advert be placed in the local paper to the Court (Bury Times) or the local paper to the OR Office (Manchester Evening News)???.
