Hi
any advice please.
we are going BR next Thurs 9th Oct. So far we have not answered any phone calls cause we didn't want to speak to the creditors.We stopped paying the direct debits from Sept 1st and sent letters notifying all creditors that we could no longer pay the minimum amounts and offering a pro-rata payment. so far we have had 5 letters back all refusing payment and refusing to freeze interest. Since i did this i talked with John and really felt that BR was the only option to us.Both hubby and i are disabled and hubby donesn't speak well in any case. messages are now being left and they are beginning to be aggressive. If i started to answer the phone could the creditors do anything before next Thurs. i dont want the BR to be cancelled etc.

Well said Tracy there is nothing they can do in a week, so answer the phone and speak out.
They may try it on, stick to your guns, it will soon be over with.

i have now decided to be brave and answer the phone from today onwards. with exactly a week to go what can they do to me- nothing

Hi tracy_b.
I had two phone calls today from debt collection agencys,I told them i had filed for BR, they both said there is nothing they can do now, and to let them know when i go BR.

Thanks tracy , think will prob need a bit more then luck in the long run but appreciate your good wishes , thanks .
To be honest i was sceptical about telling the creditors but by doing so it has stopped the calls .

Dont feel a failure towards the end i did not answer the phone or write to them as i dont like confrontations either and being bullied into things.
Your def not alone when it comes to that, stand your ground, soon be over. :-)

Hi tracy ,
Me and the wife are going BR this friday . We also avoided phone calls from creditors for fear of them been aggressive and us not knowing what to say .
But saying that as soon as we had our date i started teeling the creditors when they rang that we were going BR and all the say is ok and let us know when you have done it , no aggression or nastiness at all . Had no calls from anyone for past few days .
There is no time at all for the creditors to do anything before next thurs in your case

Sorry for long post.
Should have said that i dont like confrontation and am liable to break down in floods of tears at the thought of someone trying to get me to pay and not having any way of doing so. Feel such a failure already and thats before ging to court.
