hi there,

i think i will have to close my shop after christmas with the rent paid up to date but with still several years left on the lease but what i'd like to do is have a closing down sale two weeks prior to christmas bu t this will of course alert my landlady of my intentions to leave.
My question is apart from threaten/shout at me what else can she do, could she put any legal notices on the window/changes locks etc?

Regards,
Andy

Hi Andy,

Until you've actually breached your contract, there is nothing legally she can do. I would suggest having a chat with one of my colleagues on the helpline who will be able to advise you further.

I cant help you on that one :-(

Maybe one of the other experts or members can shed a bit more light on it.

Good luck
