Posted - 12 October 2008 : 11:30:19 Hi All,
Back again, thought i would just share my experience. Went BR with Hubby on Thursday which was a real anticlimax by the way. Over and done with so quickly and everyone at the Court was so nice. I was ok for the rest of the day maybe cause i had so much to do...try and get new bank, sort out benefits payments etc. We had to provide ID for the bank(co-op) so we organise an appointment for Brighton branch the next day (that being the closest to Hastings). Had early night. However the next day and Saturday i did nothing but cry, i dont know why really because i am happy that we are Debt free and i know that everything else will get sorted out eventually. I am however much better today and decided to post so that other newly BR people will know its not just them if they have a dodgy few days after!
Now that I'm back up and running i can start to worry about the OR interview on Thursday at 10am!
Take care everyone Good luck to all those going BR this week especially Jenny.

Posted - 12 October 2008 : 12:15:36 Hi Andy, Thanks. Good luck to both of you on Thursday.Hubby will have a talk to OR afterwards but the OR will only ask him a maximum of 3 /4 questions cause he is depressed and anxious and the OR said that the questions for him could be dealt with by me so thats a relief for hubby. Its a really weird situation that we BRs find ourselves in isn't it. Debt Free but not sorted if you get my drift. I know i could do with a holiday but got no money, Now where was that creditcard, sorry bad joke!!!!!!!

I will be thinking of you. Tracy X |

When you have your interview you basically go over the SOA. Just be honest of you cant remember say just that or general household bills and living.
Dont worry about that now, i just want you to take care and as John has said the relief is now there so think positive and live life to the full.
Cross that bridge when you come to it:-)

Posted - 12 October 2008 : 12:08:46 Hi Tracy ,
So glad you feel better today . I know what you mean about a dodgy few days , as i expect all recent BR's will as well . I have the feeling of being in 'limbo' at the moment ie , knowing that the debts are written off but not knowing what is happening about things yet re the OR .
My interview is at 10.00am on thursday as well ( face to face ) and Hayleys is at 9.00 on the phone .
Good luck for yours , take care ,

Posted - 12 October 2008 : 12:05:22 Thanks John for your words of Wisdom. I also want to thank you again for your kindness and knowledge given to me on the phone all those weeks ago. Without you i wouldn't have had the courage to go through with it or indeed i wouldn't have known what to do at all. Many THANKS John, you are a life saver

Posted - 12 October 2008 : 12:01:38 Cheers Jo,
The co-op said YES by the way on Sat so thats one thing less to worry about just got to wait till all the details come through.
Yeah Fri and Sat were awful, i was driving the car to Brighton and had to pull over for a cry and goodness knows what the woman in the coffee shop thought! My hubby just sat there, he really doesn't know what to do in these situations-Bless him.
Got request from Or to fill in paperwork and send off statements etc. He hasn't asked yet for proof of utilities or rent etc, i suppose he will get round to it. Worried about interview and what he will ask, I really dont know what i spent the money on cause i havent got anything to show for it! What did he ask you? He said i will be on the phone for about 30 mins or so. Tracy X X |

Posted - 12 October 2008 : 11:54:56 Hi tracyb I'm glad to read that you are feeling better today. I'm sure that you will have read that many find the court experience a bit of an anti-climax. Others, like me, feel elated that the debt is now in the past.
It's perfectly natural to shed a few tears after the event. Think back through your life and decide if you have ever before been under so much intense pressure for such a long period of time and seemingly lost as you don't know what to do for the best or what will happen in the future.Life goes on around you but you cannot take your mind off the debt and the unknown. It's a scary place to be. I feel I can face most things in life as long as I have some control. Until the deed is done and you have been to court there seems to be absolutely none.
I would say the reason for the tearful couple of days, although you may not have realised it, is one of pure relief. A safety valve to rid yourself of all the pent up tension. As you know it's not over yet but as court is done this thing WILL now end for you and yours.

Posted - 12 October 2008 : 11:51:18 hi Tracy
Its ok to cry as i did. It was all the things prior to the BR that suddenly come to a head.
Your not alone with the anti climax thing, it affected me the same way i felt so lonely and so out of my depth if you like almost worthless, but as time has gone on things are starting to get better.
And Tracy it will get better, its good to cry Mate.
