Posted - 18 October 2008 : 16:00:56 Just to confirm what Julian's already said, I've only dealt with Co-op's bank for about 3 minutes and have been thoroughly impressed. After years of moronic call centres with people you can't understand and silly automatic "Please press 1 to inform us of an address change" systems and generally unhelpful people, I phoned Co-op bank today to enquire about an account for myself and my wife, and said we were going BR in the next 2 weeks.
The phone was answered in circa 3 rings. I was given a short, 5 second automated message, followed by an instant reply from a polite and very helpful young lady. Was told it'd be best to open my account on the day I go BR as it only takes a couple of days to sort it all out, up to 8 days for direct debit transfers. Thought it'd take a couple of weeks hence the call! So, thoroughly impressed already, customer service seems to be #1 on the agenda here and rightly so. |

Posted - 18 October 2008 : 13:16:40 Hi all,
The Co-Op do appear to be the most BR-friendly bank out there at the moment. It is gratifying to see that there are still financial institutions out there that haven't forgotten that taking care of their customers is as the very core of their business!
