Posted - 22 October 2008 : 19:46:31 Had my OR meeting on monday five and a half hours long and will still need to go for maybe another 1 or 2 interveiws it was the most horrible day in my entire life I think I have been looking at my BR with rose coloured spectacles. Unfortunatly my shop landlord must be really pissed off with me as he has told them about that my husbands business has assetts from my mortgage and that my husband has an expensive car he also told them I am an only child with rich parents who are in ill health and that I am likely to leave me a fortune fairly soon and that I have propertys abroad when I dont even have a passport. She wants all mortgage statements from 10 years ago also my husbands business accounts and bank statements. And because I have little credit cards statements to prove my spendings she said that all of them will be investigated. This has put a huge pressure on my marriage so much so he has gone to Portugal for 1 week to get away from me and the problems, I am not sure if he will even come back. I thought it would be all over on Monday it seems to be the begining of my worst nightmare , I now know why people take the easy way out because on Monday a.m I had everything a nice life, husband, child and thought I would be out of my debt problems but by the afternoon I have lost everything my husband has worked for also and the end of my life as it was known. Sorry to burden you all with this but its not always as clean cut as you might think. |

Posted - 30 October 2008 : 18:58:37 Hi Jo Just to say a very special thankyou for all your help regarding my debt problems you have been a huge support for me. On your advice I had ameeting with Brett today who also has given me a spurt of inspiration , my husband and I are getting through this slowly but thanks to yourself and other forum members too many too mention we are getting there. We are going to do exactly what Brett has told us to do and hopefully we will then be a step closer to ending this horrific nightmare. Once again thankyou and keep up the hard work you are a real asset to this site. If there is anything I can do to repay you for this help just ask. AMANDA

Posted - 22 October 2008 : 21:11:31 Hi
Not sure you need an insolvency solicitor because you are not being charged with anything. Solicitors are likely to charge in excess of £175 +vat per hour and that is to talk as well.
suggest that you talk with one of the site professional experts before doing anything else. This is free and without any committment but at least you will then know where you are, what is likely to happen and then you are in reasonable place to make a valued judgement as to the value of help.
You need to speak to someone who not only is able to present things in a professional and concise manner but is able to argue the case given the situation at hand.

Posted - 22 October 2008 : 20:18:04 Hi there
You must remember that this section is only a process and they woant to ensure that you have handled your affairs properly and reasonably.
Quite often landlords or independent creditors get very grumpy and make all sorts of accusations. The examiner ( very unlikely to be either the Official receiver or the Assistant Official Receiver)will have heard all these grumbles before.
You need to get a calm and logical approach to the requests for info and help as much as possible.
I would be interested to learn the name of the interviewer - not a Miss Kwan by any chance?
